Welsh Valley Alpacas is run by Steve & Sue Heatherington. We are experienced alpaca shepherds and have been developing our herd since 2008.

We often have alpacas for sale and provide support and services to existing and prospective alpaca owners. We also run courses under the heading of The Alpaca Shepherd to explore what is involved in keeping alpacas, basic husbandry and more advanced subjects.

We began with 5 pregnant females and currently (as of Spring 2018) we have a herd of 36 with crias due to be born July-August.

The farm is situated in a valley just north of Swansea and only a few miles from junction 46 of the M4 – the middle of nowhere with easy access to elsewhere.

The valley used to be the site of a Victorian reservoir which served Swansea. Lots of slopes and springs but the alpacas seem to like it.
