News arrived last week via the Welsh Assembly Government website to say that the Tuberculosis (Wales) Order 2011 will be coming into force on 31 March.
This puts non-bovines (including alpacas and lamas, goats and deer) on the same footing as bovines in the event of an outbreak but does not require the routine testing applicable to cows.
From the website:
“The Tuberculosis (Wales) Order 2011, which comes into force on 31 March 2011, follows a consultation exercise which ended last November and forms part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s TB Eradication Programme.
